The OG of bacon styles packaged up in our biggest streaky packs for the foodservice legends. Slices of Freedom Farmed pork belly carefully brined to bacon-y perfection. If this sounds like the best thing ever, you would be correct!

How it’s made…

Streaky bacon comes from the belly of the pig – expect a generous amount of fat in this rasher… you won’t find any fat-shaming here though, remember, fat = flavour… and it’s also a key to crispiness!

We use a wet brine to cure – this creates delightfully tender bacon that will go crispy in all the right places. All our bacon is also naturally wood smoked… you know, by burning actual wood. No tricky flavours here.

Cooking notes…

We suggest baking on an oven tray (on a wire rack if you have one, although lining the tray with baking paper achieves much the same result) in a 180 degree oven for 12 to 20 minutes. As soon as you can smell bacon, stand by the oven because it is almost done. Streaky is by far the most popular cut of bacon – but you want to use it in ways that make the most of its ability to crisp up and impart BIG bacon flavours. Think alongside iceberg and custard-yolked eggs in a delicious cae-sal… or lovingly draped around your free-range roast chook.

Packaging Stewardship

Rinse and dry the plastic outer and return
to the soft plastics recycling bin at your local grocery store.

With careful management, soft plastic waste can be kept in a closed loop system – plastic from this product can be recycled into fence posts which are utilised on the same farms this product came from.
